With a broad range of education session topics such as EHR implementation, ICD 10, meaningful use, social media, and digital marketing tactics, there is no doubt we are in an era of digital information transfer.

The exhibit halls were flourishing with new products and services to better serve hospitals, physicians, and the healthcare industry at large. We are living in a time that is making personal healthcare data more portable, easier to access, and digitally manageable. Merging social media marketing and healthcare IT provides endless opportunity in the environment of real time data updates. Epidemics and outbreaks can be acknowledged and stopped faster with information updated and shared online in real-time.

The capability to bring together doctors and patients over secure, wireless devices will not only improve patient care in the US, but in developing countries, as well. The widespread use of digital diagnoses will increase care management and disease prevention. Hospital remittances will drop, doctors will have access to a patient’s medical history, and – in return – patients will have access to their own personal data. This will create awareness and educate the masses.
